More Southwest Action! – Trout Fishing Southwest Victoria

Made the most of the break in the weather and headed across to the South West lakes for a solo trip.

First stop was Lake Tooliorook, managed one nice fish early but as the sun rose the lake glassed off and the wind died down.  Bright sunny skies and little surface disturbance made fishing the very clear shallow water difficult and the action died off.

A change of plan was in order so I headed over to Bullen Merri, Trolled around half the lake and had a bit of a look around but not much was happening.

With only a few hours of daylight left, I decided to stop in at Purrumbete on the way home to see if the fish were still in the same area as my trip earlier in the year.

Within only 10mins I had my first and in the next hour and half managed another 3 , making 5 for the day. A long day on the water but well worth it. Here’s a few photos.
